Jubilee JumpStart maintains a waitlist for any age group where all enrollment spaces
are currently full. Completion of a pre-enrollment registration, accompanied by
a $25.00 registration fee per child, is required to be placed on the waitlist. A
child's birth date or due date and the families preferred enrollment date are needed
for placement on the wait list. Families are placed on the program wait list that
corresponds with their child's current age or the age at which the family wants
care. Jubilee JumpStart offers care for Infants through Preschool children as follows:
|
Infants: 6 weeks to 18 months
|
16 enrollment spaces available
|
|
Toddlers: 18 months to 3 years
|
16 enrollment spaces available
|
|
Preschool: 3 to 5 years
|
18 enrollment spaces available
|
|
Children close to the cutoff date for one age group may be placed in the next oldest
class at the discretion of the Executive Director, in accordance with District of
Columbia licensing standards, in order to minimize the total number of classroom
transitions that a child will experience. When a child on the wait list "ages up"
to the next program they are placed on the next program's list according to the
original registration date. Children are removed from the wait list upon their entry
into Kindergarten.
Placement on the wait list does not guarantee that the center will be able to accommodate
a family's care needs at their desired time. Space for new enrollments becomes available
when a vacancy occurs in the appropriate age group due to a transition or withdrawal.
As space become available families are offered enrollment as ordered on the wait
list based upon the date of need stated on the pre-enrollment registration and the
date on which the pre-enrollment registration was received. Placement offers are
always made in order of priority, the date of need, registration date, and the age
of the child.
In alignment with the mission of Jubilee JumpStart to provide high quality child
care to low income families, 75 % of enrollment are reserved for income eligible
families. In addition priority enrollment in the Jubilee JumpStart program will
be given as follows:
- Siblings of children enrolled in Jubilee JumpStart
- Residents
of Jubilee Housing who meet income eligibility requirements
- Employees of Jubilee
JumpStart, Jubilee Housing, and The Family Place
- Other Income Eligible families
- All others
Accepting/Declining Enrollment Offers
When a placement becomes available an offer
will be made based on the above priority and a family's placement on the wait list.
Families will have 72 hours to decide whether or not to accept the placement and
respond to the offer. The Center will make every attempt to make an offer at least
30 days in advance of the space becoming available; however this time frame may
be shorter depending upon the amount of notice the center was given to the vacancy
or the number of families who have declined the space. It is the family's responsibility
to make sure that all contact information is kept up to date. If the Center does
not have the correct information this could result in a missed opportunity for enrollment.
- All offers will be made via phone. If we are unable to reach you via phone after
two attempts, we will move on to the next family. Voicemail messages will be left
when this option is available. We will move on to the next family should we not
receive a response to the message within 48 hours. The center will move down the
wait list until a family accepts the enrollment placement.
- Once a family has accepted
an offer of enrollment, they must begin to pay for the space beginning the day that
it is available, no exceptions. A non-refundable deposit of one month's tuition
is required within 5 days of the acceptance. This deposit will be applied to the
first month's tuition.
- If a family declines an enrollment offer they may remain
on the wait list. You can decline an offer up to 3 times before being removed from
the wait list.
- Failure to respond to two offers for placement will result in removal
from the wait list.
Required Enrollment Forms
Upon acceptance of the space we will give the family an enrollment packet. The completion
of all parts of this packet is especially important! Each of the forms is required
either by regulatory authorities or by Jubilee JumpStart for your child's health
and safety. We recommend that you immediately contact your child's pediatrician
to complete the required health forms and immunization records, as these often require
some time for them to complete and return to you. No child may be admitted to or
retained in the center for which complete and current information has not been submitted.
After enrollment, families will be required to keep their child's records current
by routinely updating immunizations, lead and TB screenings, annual physical exams,
emergency contact information, and other important information.
NOTE: Jubilee JumpStart
follows the District of Columbia Health and Immunization schedule.
Intake Conferences
Each family who will have a child enrolled in the center will be asked to schedule
two conferences:
Administrative Intake Conference: At this conference, your enrollment contract,
your child's completed enrollment paperwork and health forms will be carefully reviewed.
It is important to have all of this information fully completed prior to your scheduled
Intake conference. No child may attend the center until completed enrollment forms
and health information has been submitted.
Primary Caregiver Intake Conference:
At this conference, which is scheduled very close to your child's start date, you
will meet with your child's caregiver to discuss your child's personal needs and
special family information. You will need to bring your child's completed "Developmental
History and Individualized Care Plan" with you to this conference, as it will help
you not to forget any important information that we might need to know!
