CaShawn was born and raised in Washington, DC. She studies Early Care and Education with a concentration in infants and toddlers at the University of DC. She has worked in Early Childhood Education since 1998 and exclusively with children under three and their families since 2001. CaShawn is a student doula and will be fully certified in prenatal/ labor and birthing/postpartum doula care in 2013.

Ms. Christy has worked with children, you and families for over 30 years. Her early childhood education began at Arundel Senior High School in the early childhood center. She earned her AA in Early Childhood and BA in Sociology from the University of the District of Columbia. She also earned an Early Intervention Specialist Certificate from Sinclair Community College. She is currently attending the Catholic University of America in the Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education scholarship cohort program. Her personal motto is, “early intervention is the key to our educational success.” Ms. Christy is also a Red Cross Certified Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor, and she enjoys teaching children to swim.

Ms. Elizabeth has been in the early childhood education field for over 10 years. She has multiple degrees from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY (Long Island) which include early childhood education, humanities and criminal justice to say a few. She has been working in positions from director to assistant teacher with children from birth to young adulthood. She truly enjoys the Jubilee Jumpstart program and family atmosphere, its great as an educator to see and be a part of children not only being educated but also cared for as family here. The personal attention children and their families receive is well beyond any program she has ever been a part of. Jubilee is truly a great place to be. She wakes up in the morning happy to come to work and explore the wonderful world of pre-k with her class. She is proud to be the program coordinator of pre-k and spread the word about Jubilee wherever I go.

Miss Abigail joined our team in August 2011. She has an Elementary Education Teaching Credential issued by the State of California in 2010. She recently completed her Master’s in Divinity with a focus on Early Stages of Faith Formation and has been a certified Spiritual Director since 2008. She is excited by the joys and struggles associated by working with such a diverse group of students, parents, care-givers and teachers. Having recently moved to DC from Seattle, most of her friends and family are on the west coast so she takes great comfort in being a part of the JJS family!
