"Being from Colombia, it is important for me to give back to my community. I feel that at Jubilee JumpStart, I can do that because being a Hispanic or an immigrant is not a punishment but a plus here. I can see that the teachers here, who come from various places and backgrounds, are committed and want to grow. I want to be here for them, the kind of support I hoped for when I was a teacher. Someone to help them see and reach their potential." --Yohana Morena
As we continue to position ourselves for greater impact on our children’s education, we welcome a new Education Manager, Yohana Moreno, to oversee and support classroom instruction. Yohana will directly support and supervise our teaching teams and our Mentor Teacher and help ensure that our curriculum, Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum, is implemented to fidelity. Yohana brings with her experience as an early childhood educator and is passionate about helping teachers recognize and reach their potential. She says Jubilee JumpStart's commitment to diversity, including our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workforce, makes her confident that this is where she belongs.
When Yohana is not busy leading teachers or advocating for children and their families, she enjoys reading, working out, and spending time with her dog Simba.
We're excited to welcome Yohana as we continue to strengthen our presence and influence in early childhood education and teacher development. She put it best when she said, "Step by step, together we can do great things!" We wholeheartedly agree.
