Volunteer Opportunities
Community engagement is integral to the growth and success of Jubilee JumpStart. As one of our four Operational Pillars, it is as important to us as providing high-quality care for children, dependable support for families, and investment in professional development for teachers.

One of the best ways to be part of that mission? Volunteer your time and talents.

Whether you have an hour or a few days, want to help once or on a regular basis, we have opportunities to match your interests and schedule.
Explore the options below, or reach out to Danica Benson, our Family & Community Engagement Manager, at dbenson@jubileejumpstart.org to learn more.

Be a JumpSTAR Reader
Love reading with kids? Bring your favorite story to life as a JumpSTAR Reader!

Whether you join us for our special Fall in Love with Books or March into Reading events, or stop by to read to your favorite classroom, you’ll help spark imagination and build a love of books in our youngest learners.

Pick a book you love—or we’ll help you choose one—and share a joyful storytime with children who will hang on your every word.

Share Your Art
Are you a musician, storyteller, or visual artist?
We’d love to welcome your creativity into our classrooms!

Join us for an hour or two—once or on a recurring basis—to spark wonder and creativity in young children!
Volunteers can lead hands-on activities, tell stories, or make music. If you have the talent, time, and heart for children… that’s music to our ears.

Family Market Shopkeepers
Help make food security feel like a neighborhood effort!

Once a month, Jubilee JumpStart partners with Families4Families’ Students4Families program to host our Family Market, providing free groceries to families in our community. We need helping hands to receive donated items or assist during our weekday morning market.

Got a few weekend hours to spare? Or want to support our market during the week? You can make a real difference.
Get Kids Moving
Got a love for movement? Our children do too!

From yoga and dance to obstacle courses and active games, we welcome volunteers to lead fun, age-appropriate physical play in our toddler, two-year-old, and Pre-K classrooms.
Whether it's a one-time visit or a recurring activity, your energy can help children build strong bodies—and joyful hearts.
Be Our Librarian
Are you a book lover with a few hours to spare each week?

We’re looking for someone to help keep our love of reading well organized!
Support Jubilee JumpStart by managing our internal library, tidying up our lending and Little Free Libraries, and helping distribute books that build home libraries for our families.

Be Our Diaper Bank Deputy
Help us deliver care—one diaper at a time!

Once a month, we receive free diapers and essentials from the DC Diaper Bank to share with our families and community.
We could use your help transporting items to Jubilee JumpStart during our hours of operation and supporting their distribution once they arrive.

Help Spruce Up Our Space
Love working with your hands or being outdoors? Come lend a hand at Jubilee JumpStart!

If you enjoy building, repairing, or find gardening therapeutic, join us for a Community Work Day. Spend a couple of weekend hours helping us keep our center and playground safe, welcoming, and beautiful for the children we serve.

Part of a group or organization? We’d love to host your next service project—contact Danica to plan a meaningful volunteer experience together!
Behind-the-Scenes Skills
Are you tech-savvy? Great with design, databases, or social media?

We’re looking for volunteers who can support Jubilee JumpStart with operational and administrative tasks—from managing data and creating promotional materials to helping us shine online.

Whether you’re interested in a one-time project or ongoing support, we’re flexible and happy to work with your availability.

Share Your Art: Storytelling
At Jubilee JumpStart, we believe the arts can inspire connection and bring our shared values to life.
We're looking for creatives to help us deepen community ties, celebrate culture, and illuminate the impact of early childhood education.
Whether it’s through photography, music, illustration, or another medium, your work can help us tell our story and inspire others to see what we can build together.
