Volunteer Opportunities
Community engagement is integral to the growth and success of Jubilee JumpStart. As one of our four Operational Pillars, it is as important to us as providing high-quality care for children, dependable support for families, and investment in professional development for teachers.
One way we aim to meet this commitment is by providing opportunities for our supporters to get involved. Because of COVID-19, we’ve had to adapt our volunteer programs so that our community can connect with us while we are doing all that we can to keep our children and each other healthy and safe.

If you love engaging with children around a good book, find out about our Fall in Love with Books and March into Reading events or inquire about other opportunities to read to your preferred Jubilee JumpStart classroom. We welcome you to connect virtually or in person to read. If you'd like to come in person to read, please see our note below about volunteering onsite below.
Be a
Video JumpSTAR
By sharing your talent or interest in a short video that we can add to our digital library for our children learning at home. Do you play an instrument? Do you love to cook or do crafts? Into fitness or yoga? Are you a great storyteller?
Share a short video doing a family friendly activity that children do with you at home with their parents.
Be Our Family Market
Shopkeeper
Once a month Jubilee JumpStart in partnership with Families4Families’ Students4Families program hosts a Family Market, distributing free groceries to families in need in our community. Donate a couple of hours one weekend a month to help us receive donate items or plan to come to support our weekday AM market.

Be Our Librarian
This opportunity is for a book lover who can commit to a couple of hours a week to help us keep our internal library organized, manage our lending library and Little Free Library, and distribute books to build home libraries.
Share Your Art
We're looking for musicians, storytellers, and visual artists to enrich classroom explorations and experience for an hour or two in our classrooms on a recurring basis. It'd be music to our ears if you've got the talent, time, and heart for young children.
Share You Passion for Fitness
Got a love of fitness? Children love large muscle movement experiences! Visit our toddler, two-year-old, and/or Pre-K classrooms for some engagement through yoga, dance, and other forms of physical play.
Be Our
Diaper Bank
Deputy
Once a month we receive free diapers and related goods from the DC Diaper Bank to distribute to our families and community.
We could use transport support from the Diaper Bank to Jubilee JumpStart during our operating hours and help coordinating distribution to our community.
Help Keep Our Center and Playground Safe and Attractive
If you are handy with tools, like to build and repair things or fine gardening and yard work therapeutic, learn about Jubilee JumpStart Community Work Days and volunteer a couple of hours of a weekend to help us spruce up the place.
Are you part of an organization or group interested in a beautification service project? Contact Danica to plan your groups experience here.
Offer Administrative or Operational Support
Are you tech-savvy? Do you have experience managing databases? Are you an active engager in social media? Can you create dynamic documents and promotional materials?
If so, there are opportunities to get involved. Help us on a specific project or offer support on an ongoing basis, we can work with your availability.
Note: All volunteers desiring to serve inside our center must be fully vaccinated and boosted and commit to following our health and safety guidelines.
