BAM!

What is the Heroes Ball?

Jubilee JumpStart continues to be lifted up by heroes. Our Annual Heroes Ball celebrates those in our community who help us thrive. This year's Heroes Ball was a virtual event that recognized the heroes who kept our center strong through the 2020-21 school year - our parents, volunteers, our 2021 honorees, and other incredible members of the community.

Anne Peretz

While serving families from low-income backgrounds as a therapist in the 1980s, Peretz founded the Parenting Journey an international program that helps families face and overcome systemic stressors while strengthening their parenting skills. Jubilee JumpStart is proud to be a member of that Parenting Journey family, a cornerstone of our parent support work. Peretz continues to be a caring member of our community for many years through her invaluable wisdom and financial support. Peretz has been honored by organizations like Harvard University, On The Rise Inc., and the cities of Somerville and Cambridge. She’s a legend and friend. She’s our Hero of the Year.

Community Hero

of the Year

At the core, Families4Families (F4F) is community itself. F4F is a DC-based 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides food and other essentials to families in need. Starting as a neighborhood initiative to support local families struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they repositioned middle and high school students at the forefront of the operation last Fall. Now with 23 student-led clubs in the DMV and five affiliate chapters they’ve donated over 350,000 meals and counting, including to Jubilee JumpStart families. We are grateful to be a nonprofit partner.  Our student groups from Deal MS and Landon HS continue to inspire us with their ongoing support.

thank You For Supporting Financially!

Dollars raised from the Heroes Ball help our superhero teachers continue to provide the highest-quality early childhood education, support our families, and continue to stay safe with our doors open. Our goal for the event was $50,000.  Thanks to the generous support of heroes like you we raised $75,000 and the support hasn't stopped.

Thank you!
