A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this year’s Fall in Love with Books a success! Over the past two weeks, the Jubilee JumpStart community came together to celebrate the magic of literature, bringing cherished stories to life and stocking home libraries for the families we serve.
Friday’s Literacy Festival was a standout moment, featuring storytimes, beloved book characters come to life, and an afternoon filled with refreshments and family activities.
Highlights from our classrooms included:
The Hummingbirds infant class: An immersive Itsy Bitsy Spider show, complete with a raindrops splash zone!
The Quetzals: A vibrant Green Eggs and Ham experience, featuring a creative painting station.
The Tree Frogs and Toucans classes: A photo frame decoration station inspired by We Love Fall by Dianne Muldrow.
The Tigers class: An autumn leaf necklace-making activity inspired by Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf by Lois Ehlert.
Ms. Mary’s corner: Bountiful refreshments and inspired a fun child activity inspired by Who Took the Cookie from the Cookie Jar.
We’re especially grateful to Verena from WII DC for her incredible planning and support, to our fantastic volunteer readers from the Junior League of Washington and our Board of Directors, and to you for helping make learning a joyful adventure for every child.
